TOWNSEND, Del. - Karol Zuccaro Powers-Case was welcomed by Christmas angels December 19, 2020, at Advent Health Hospital in Tarpon Springs, Florida, due to complications from COVID-19. She lived as a devoted spouse to both William Edgar Powers, Sr. for 28 years and George Lee Case for 23 years.

She excelled as an educational leader over a 40 year career holding positions and accolades ranging from classroom teacher to being named Delaware's National Distinguished Principal in 1996.
Karol was a member of Saint Dennis Church in Galena, Maryland, where she served as a lector, Eucharistic minister and on the Pastoral Council. She was involved with numerable associations including: The Appoquinimink Celtic Association, Red Hats, The Delaware Retired School Personnel Association, Delaware Farm Bureau Women's Committee and the board of directors for the Old Bohemia Historical Association. Karol enjoyed cooking, music, playing the piano, sewing, reading and politics. She was always the first to tell memorable stories, was the life of the event with a contagious laugh, loved being surrounded by family and friends, and would conversate with anyone she met.
Her irresistible light shines yet and will be missed by many.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Karol's honor to The Old Bohemia Historical Society, PO Box 61, Warwick, MD 21912.
A Mass of Christian burial and celebration of her life will take place at a later date when it is safe to gather.
