SEAFORD - Karen E. Holston "Miss Karen" passed away peacefully at her home on Sept. 22, 2022, in Seaford, surrounded by her loving family and Pastor.
Born in Seaford, Karen was the daughter of Walter and Iva King.
Karen grew up in Delmar. In 1974 she graduated from Delmar High School & Vo-Tech where she studied cosmetology. She worked as a hairdresser for 5 years before working several other jobs until she found her true passion and opened Miss Karen's Family Daycare. She ran the Daycare for 16 years before retiring due to health reasons in 2010. Karen was an avid member of Seaford Wesleyan Church (The Ark) for over 20 years where she was a board member & treasurer for many years.
She is survived by her High School sweetheart & loving husband of 47 years, Vic Holston and their children Robert A. Holston (Nicole) of Laurel, DE, Heather L. Shepard (fiancé Shawn Ly) of Seaford, DE & William B. Holston of Houston, DE; as well as grandchildren, Devon M. DeMaio, Noah R. Ly & Allen R. Shepard JR "AJ". Siblings Billy King (Joan), Eddie King (Phyillis), Ellen Bowden (Daniel), Julie DeBord (Mack) & Ron King (Tammy). As well as an abundance of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and a very special companion & furry son Marley Todd.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Kayla M. DeMaio; & grandson, Travis Holston.
Services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2022, at Seaford Wesleyan Church (The Ark). Viewing from 12:00 - 1:00pm followed by the service at 1:00 pm. Graveside service will be held at Line United Methodist Church, Whitesville, DE. Officiated by Pastor Dave Kiser.
Funeral arrangements made by Cranston Funeral Home of Seaford, DE.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Karen E Holston.
