HARRINGTON - June A. Messick passed away peacefully on Monday, November 22, 2021, at her home. June was born in Carbondale, Ill. to the late, Herman and Esta Kelley.
June was a homemaker. She enjoyed watching TV, especially her soaps, the Young and the Restless and the Bold and Beautiful. She also enjoyed watching football games, and NASCAR with her husband. In her younger days, she worked for the Good Luck Glove Co. for nine years and also at a Baptist Book Store. June will be remembered as a kind hearted person, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who lovingly cared for her family. She lived life so vibrant and full of energy, and she was a blessing to all that knew her. She will be sadly missed.
June loved to attend church at Calvary Wesleyan Church of Harrington, and was a member of the Harington Senior Center.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her sisters, Marjorie Martin, Imogene Sykes, Ivo Syslo, Carmen Lehenbauer.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Lawrence E. "Larry" Messick; sons, Michael A. Messick Sr., Richard L. (Tabitha) Messick; brother, Don Kelley; grandchildren, Mike Messick Jr., David Messick, Madison Messick, Clay Messick; great grandchild, Michael Messick III.
Services for June will be on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, at 12 noon. A visitation for family and friends will start at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at the Hollywood Cemetery.
