GREENSBORO, Md. - Julie Lynn Strauss, Greensboro, died Friday, Oct. 22, 2010, in the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore. She was 51. She was born Oct. 15, 1959 in Easton to Gene Richard and Tamara Faye Nichols Middleton of Greensboro. Julie was a 1977 graduate of North Caroline High School. She began working for UL Harman of Marydel 34 years ago starting out as a typist during high school, then working her way up as top administrator next to owner Gerald Harman. She enjoyed many things including gardening, crabbing, fishing, horseshoes, singing country music as her dad played the guitar, dancing, completing number and word puzzles, scrap booking, crafts, boating and camping. Her favorite sports teams to cheer for were the Philadelphia Eagles (after John Elway retired) and NASCAR drivers Tim Richmond and Terry Labonte. Her greatest love, however, was spending time with and taking care of her family. In addition to her parents she is survived by her husband of 15 years, Raymond Strauss; three sons, Nickolas Strauss and Benjamin Strauss both of Greensboro, and Chris Strauss and wife Tiffany of Clayton, Del.; one daughter, Carissa Stevens and husband Francis of Hartly, Del.; two brothers, Rick Middleton of Ridgely and Mike Middleton of Burrsville; three grandchildren, Casey, Eric and Kobe; her mom-mom, Isabel Nichols; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. Services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. in the Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, 106 W Sunset Ave; Greensboro. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral service.
