Julia Ann Meixell

Meixell, 76 SMYRNA - Julia Ann "Judy" Meixell, 76, of Smyrna, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Kent General Hospital after a battle with cancer. Julia was born in Philadelphia, Pa. She married Veryl V. Meixell, Jr. and lived in Wilmington, prior to moving to Smyrna. She worked at Verizon Communications until she retired in 2001. She enjoyed going on cruises and spending time at the beach with family and friends. Julia was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen and Mary Kowalchuk; and her husband, Veryl. She is survived by her brother, Stephen (Marilyn) Kowalchuk of Bear; and sister, Kay Kaczmarczyk of Newark; sons, Victor (Christina) of Dover, and Scott of Smyrna; and three grandchildren, Brooke Madison, Victoria Lynn and Cassandra Renee. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2016 followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30 a.m., at Gebhart Funeral Homes, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703. Burial will be immediately following the service in Lawn Croft Cemetery, 1000 West Ridge Road, Linwood, PA 19061.
