Judith T. 'Judy' Jones, 78
DOVER - Judith T. "Judy" Jones passed away August 2, 2022. Mrs. Jones was born November 3, 1943 in Camden Wyoming, Delaware, daughter of the late George W. and Thelma (Crossley) Tarburton.
Mrs. Jones graduated from Caesar Rodney High School in 1961. She attended Goldey Beacom College were she graduated with an associates degree. After college she went to work for the Delaware Motor Vehicle Department for several years until leaving to start a family.
Judy was a loving stay at home mom to her two girls. She returned to the work force once they were school age. She then started her career with the Capital School District as a paraprofessional. She loved working and helping all the kids during her years there until she retired.
Mrs. Jones enjoyed spending time with her family. They spent many summers at the beach were she could be found sun bathing and jumping waves in the ocean. She loved to tend to all the flowers she would plant in the yard. She also loved to sew and crochet. She would crochet blankets for every new member of her family. She could also be found along with her husband cheering on their grandsons at there sporting events. She became Mom-Mom Jones to a lot of kids. She was the best wife, mother, sister, mother-in-law, grandma and GG-Ma.
She was preceded in death by her late husband of 57 years, Homer William Jones, Jr.; her parents, George and Thelma Tarburton; and sister, Deborah Ashley.
She is survived by her daughters, Terri (Jones) Seymore and son-in-law Joseph Seymore Jr.; daughter, Melinda (Mindy) Jones; brother, David Tarburton and sister-in-law, Lynda Tarburton; sister-in-law, Beatrice (Jones) Moore and brother-in-law, Allen Moore; four grandsons, Joseph L. Seymore, III, William Seymore, Jamal Watson and Aaron Jenkins; and one special great granddaughter, Isabella Jenkins; and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
Funeral service will be Friday, Aug. 12, 2022 at 12 noon and family and friends may call one hour before time of the service, all at Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus Street, Dover, DE. Burial will be held at Odds Fellow Cemetery Camden, DE.
