Joyce Vera Papenhausen, 70

CAMDEN - Joyce Vera Papenhausen, of Camden, died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover, after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 70.

She was born on March 16, 1937, in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of the late August and Hilda (Miller) Zamminer.

The Queens, N.Y., resident was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Queens Village.

She provided love and care to her patients through home health care.

Joyce will be remembered as a loving mother, a wonderful sister and a great friend.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Thomas Papenhausen.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce-Ann and John Squires of Statesboro, Ga.; her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Frances Papenhausen of Camden; her brother, William Zamminer of Camden; her sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Martin Blaes of Statesboro.; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; and several other family members and many dear friends.

Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Pinelawn Cemetery, Farmingdale, N.Y.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720-1633.
