GEORGETOWN - Josephine Etta Massey passed away at Bayhealth Memorial Hospital in Milford. She was 75. Mrs. Massey was born to the late Harold A. and Gladys (Wells) Schirmer. She worked for 27 years at the Stockley Center and then worked 7 years at Vocational Rehab in Georgetown. She then owned and operated a school bus service for Indian River School District for 10 years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved music, crafts, painting and had a great singing voice. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Tony Steele; and following shortly after her death, her son, Mike Steele. She is survived by her son, Allan Schirmer and his wife, Nancy; daughter-in-law, Lisa Steele; siblings Wayne Schirmer, Nancy Williamson, Carl Schirmer and wife, Doris, Dennis Schirmer and wife, Tammy, Debbie Weaver and husband, Bob, Aubrey Schirmer, Ethan Schirmer, and Brayden Schirmer; grandchildren, Travis Schirmer and wife, Kim, Colby Steele and wife, Stacey, Morgan Steele and wife, Krista, Kelly Tyndall and husband, Matt, and Austyn Steele; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, DE 19947 where friends may call after 12 noon. Interment will be in Henlopen Memorial Park.
