MILFORD - Joseph P. Rodgers Sr. of Milford died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007, at the Milford Center. He was 99.

Mr. Rodgers was born Sept. 13, 1908, in Philadelphia, son of the late Peter and Rose (Donahue) Rodgers.

He was employed by the Philadelphia Gas Co. in their sales department for 45 years and retired in 1960.

Mr. Rodgers enjoyed playing the saxophone and participated in the Mummer's Parade with his church band.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen J. Rodgers, in 1995; a son, Charles J. Rodgers; and a sister, Helen Rodgers.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph P. Jr. and Jeanne G. Rodgers of Bethany Beach; 11 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. today at St. Ann's Church, 691 Garfield Parkway, Bethany Beach.

Burial will be noon Thursday at Holy Cross Cemetery, 626 Bailey Road, Yeadon, Pa.

Instead of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to St. Ann's Church, 691 Garfield Parkway, Bethany Beach, DE 19930.

Arrangements handled by Rogers Funeral Home, Milford.
