Joseph P. Herzich, 78 SMYRNA - Joseph P. Herzich, formerly of Oceanside, N.Y., passed away at his home with his loving family by his side on Wednesday July 29, 2009. He was 78. He was born in New York, N.Y., the son of the late Joseph and Katherine Herzich. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Anna (Nancy) Herzich; three daughters and their husbands, Marie (Michael) Cendo, of Annandale, N.J. Catherine (Laurence) Sheehan, of Clayton, and Nancy (Walter) Henry, of Seaford, Va.; and three grandchildren, Daniel, Katelin, and Colin. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 12 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, at St. Polycarp Catholic Church, Ransom Lane and South St., Smyrna. Friends may call from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, August 2nd at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna. Burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Newark.
