Joseph 'Oakley' Biddle, 86 DOVER - Joseph "Oakley" Biddle, of Dover, died Wednesday, July 16, 2008, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 86. Mr. Biddle was born Jan. 3, 1922, in Dover, to the late William Biddle and Pearl Cooper Biddle. Mr. Biddle was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. For 20 years he was a school bus contractor for Capitol School District, and also owned Biddle Brothers Texaco on Del. 8 in Dover. Mr. Biddle was an antique collector as well as an antique dealer. He loved to go to auctions. He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Dover. Mr. Biddle is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth Evans Biddle of Dover; his son, William Biddle Sr. and his wife Debby of Dover; and two grandchildren, William E. Biddle Jr. and Brenda Biddle, both of Dover. Funeral services will be noon Saturday in Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover, where friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, Dover. Letters of condolences may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
