John Rocco Coury
John Rocco Coury born March 28, 1936 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Marie (DeBiasi) and John N. Coury, passed away peacefully on Friday November 4, 2022. John was the beloved husband of his cherished wife Carolyn of 62 years. He leaves behind his loving sons John Jr. of Marydel, Steve of Dover, and Greg (and special daughter in law Kim) of Magnolia. He is also survived by his grandchildren Grace, Ryan, and Clarke, and his caring sister Mary Galtz and devoted brother Paul Coury of Pittsburgh. He is predeceased by his brothers Norman, Edmund, and Michael.
After his honorable discharge from the Army in 1957, John returned to Pittsburgh and managed the family's locally renowned Lebanese restaurant, later opening his own restaurant and pub. He spent the last 20 years retired in Dover where he truly enjoyed the simple pleasures of life surrounded by his family. John's family was his greatest joy, his love for us motivated everything he did.
John would want to thank his doctors, their staff, and the Camden-Wyoming Fire Company EMTs for their kindness and care.
A private family service is being held.
Memorial donations may be directed to St. Jude Children's hospital at Stjude.org.
