DOVER - John Richard Francis Jr., of Dover and Wilmington, born on Jan. 30, 1949, passed away on April 2, 2011, surrounded by his family and friends. He was 62. He was the 3rd child of John Richard Francis, Sr. and Jean Elizabeth Bowdle Francis. He attended the University of Pensacola in Pensacola, Fla., where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Jack loved to cook and ran a concession stand called "Mom's Place" for several years at the Delaware State Fair in the early 80's. In the late 80's, he also owned and operated "Jack's Pizza & Subs" in Felton. He was knowm for his marinated shrimp, clams casino and crab imperial recipes. He loved playing his guitar and singing and was avid book reader. His favorite places to be were his sisters Jean's beach house in Kitts Hummock, or his sister Jaye Lani's farmhouse in Felton. He was welcomed on the other side by his parents, John Sr. and Elizabeth; his little sister, Jaye Lani; his grandparents, Clem and Irene Bowdle; and many beloved life long friends. He is with them again waiting to greet his brother, James Andrew Francis and his wife Trudi Francis of Fredericksburg, Va.; his big sister, Jean Elizabeth Francis of Dover; his girlfriend, Kathy Diana Shelor of Magnolia; his former wife, mother of his children, and lifetime friend, with her husband, Donna and Michael Kyle; his daughter, Devon Louise Francis, with her partner Stanley Edwards and children, Daulton, Desiree, and Sean of Wilmington; son, John Richard Francis III with his partner Lauren Ogden and children, Cadence and John IV of Smyrna; nephew, Erick Francis and his daughter, Scarlett of Alexandria, Va.; niece, Kimberly Vitanza Moore and her husband Glenn Moore and children, Vinnie, Jordan, Dillon and Danny of Lincoln; and nephew, Mark Vitanza and his wife Sandy and children Sean and Justin of Dover. A celebration services of Jack's life will be noon, Saturday, April 9, 2011. Friends may call at 11 a.m. in the Trader Funeral Home Inc., 12 Lotus St., Dover. He will be laid to rest with his family in the Presbyterian Church Cemetery on Governors Ave. in Dover immediately following the services. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in his name, to the University of PA Medical Center Transplant Department, 3400 Spruce St., Philadelphia, PA 19014; or to Trader Funeral Home Inc., 12 Lotus Street, Dover, DE 19901, to help in funeral expense.
