John Phillip
Schulties (Phil)
It is with great sadness that we say good-bye to our loving Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and friend John Phillip Schulties (Phil). Phil died at his home and went to join his loving wife Mary Ann on December 3, 2021.
Phil was a lifelong employee of International Playtex, retiring as the Director of Building and Grounds Maintenance. When his three boys were young, Phil often worked side jobs to support his family so that Mary Ann could be a stay-at-home mom to their boys. Actively involved in the Harrington Little League, Phil coached all three son's little league teams as well as umpired. Phil enjoyed hunting with his sons and grandsons. Phil and Mary Ann enjoyed camping with their friends as well as Saturday night card games with family and friends and watching the Baltimore Orioles. Phil and Mary Ann enjoyed vacationing in Florida and camping for extended periods of time in Lancaster Pennsylvania.
Phil was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Davis; his father, John Schulties; his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Ann Schulties; and his son, John Ander Schulties. Phil is survived by his loving family: sons, Jack (Peg), Duane (Sue); and daughter-in-law, Gina Schulties; ten grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; his sister, Annice Keller; and his brother, David Davis. Phil leaves behind his friend and companion Deb; and many loving nieces and nephews, including his great nephew, neighbor and occasional partner in crime, Larry Thompson and Larry's wife Kimberly.
Funeral services will be held 12 Noon, Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover, Del. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will follow at Hopkin Cemetery, Felton, Delaware.
