Jack Spencer, Sr. passed away on October 26, 2023 at Delaware Hospice in Milford, Del., following a brief illness. He was born on November 9, 1935 in Dover, Del.
"Jack" was a hardworking business man who took over the Spencer family business of over the road trucking, hauling milk, and feed grinding services for livestock after stepping in, after his father died. The business flourished under Jack's leadership and was awarded Purina Mill's top dealer status on numerous occasions.
In his younger years, Jack enjoyed racing motorcycles and won national awards in well-known races such as the Jack Pine Enduro. He also enjoyed boating, fishing, gardening, baking, and watching old Westerns as he grew older.
Jack is survived by his beloved son, John K. Spencer, Jr., his stepsons Mike Rampmeyer and Mark Rampmeyer, his ex-wife and friend Dorothy Spencer, his sister Linda Davis, and several grandchildren and his sister-in-law Joyce Spencer. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, John and Mary Spencer, and his brother Robert Spencer.
