DOVER - John K. "Big John" Robbins, 58, of Dover passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014. Big John hauled coal out of the mines of Tennessee with his father. Afterwards, he worked for Cook Transport in Birmingham, Alabama for 15 years. He then worked for D. & K. Trucking, H. & M. Bay Carriers, Winn Transport and Fox Trucking in Easton, Md. Besides driving a truck, Big John enjoyed fishing. John was preceded in death by a step son, Christopher Shockley. Big John is survived by his wife, Tammy; his step son, Brian Malinowski; his sister, Leisa Hill; his aunt, Jackie Matthews; his granddaughter, Star Malinowski; and his homey trucking brother, Dennis Bergholz. A funeral service will be 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, with viewing two hours prior. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses. Online condolences may be made via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
