DOVER - John Hershey Mosemann passed away on December 1, 2021 at home. Mr. Mosemann was born in Lancaster, Pa., the son of the late Mary Ruth (Hershey) and Paul F. Mosemann, Sr.
Mr. Mosemannn earned his masters degree from Elmira College in New York. He was an educator for various schools, retiring from education after 20 years of service. Afterwards, he was a security guard for General Foods and Playtex for numerous years. He was a member of Capitol Baptist Church in Dover. Many times he would volunteer to preach at Milford Manor Nursing Home. Mr. Mosemann was also at one point a champion chess player. For two years, he served his country in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Mosemann is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carol (Simon) Mosemann; his children, Patricia A. Finney and her husband Douglas of Camden, Donald J. Mosemann of Newark and Beth A. Mills and her significant other Brian Mitzel of Seaford; two sisters, Dorothy Lepp and her husband Pete of Akron, Ohio and Mary Alice Titcomb and her husband Ed of Rockford, Ill.; and three grandchildren, Jonathan, Amanda and Sarah. In addition to his parents; Mr. Mosemann was preceded in death by his son, Robert; his sister, Esther Mosemann; and his brother, Paul F. Mosemann, Jr.
A funeral service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934 where friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
