John Henry Quay, 68

CLAYTON - John Henry Quay, passed away Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, in his home. He was 68. Mr. Quay was born April 20, 1940 in Elkton, Md., the son of the late Frank and Mary Thompson Quay. He worked as the Recreation Supervisor for the State of Delaware Department of Corrections for 23 years before retirement. Mr. Quay was an avid sports fan, especially NASCAR, and enjoyed playing racquetball. He also enjoyed playing Backgammon with his sons and grandchildren, but his true love was spending time with his wife, Janice Sue Boggs Quay. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Shawn C. Quay, of Smyrna, and Aaron D. Quay, of Clayton; two brothers, Frank Quay Jr., of Wilmington, and Charles Quay, of Elkton, Md.; a sister, Elsie Bullock, also of Elkton, Md.; and four grandchildren, Joshua, Shawn Jr., Nicholas and Sabrina. Services will be 12 noon Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009 in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, where friends may call one hour prior to the services. Burial will be private and the family requests no flowers. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to your favorite charity.
