GREENWOOD - John Franklin "Frankie" Closser, III, 61, of Greenwood, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016, at his home. He was born on September 29, 1954, in Milford, the only son of Raymond and Dorothy Closser. Frankie had a lifelong love of motorcycles. As a teenager he began motocross racing and quickly advanced into an expert flat track racer with many trophies and awards. He was an avid Harley rider and loved being on his bike on the open road. Frankie owned and operated his own logging business in Greenwood for many years. Prior to that, he worked construction with Local Union 847 which helped build the Indian River Power Plant. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Dorothy Closser; and a sister, Cherie. Frankie is survived by his sisters, Suzanne Sheffield of Dover (Bill), Tammy Kearney of Seaford (Mike), Jamie Grillo of Greenwood (John), and Kara Brasure of Dagsboro (Keith); as well as several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be 11 a.m., Friday, September 2, 2016, at St. Johnstown Cemetery, St. Johnstown Road, Greenwood, Delaware. Arrangements are in the care of Fleischauer Funeral Home in Greenwood.
