John F. 'Jack' Betley Jr., 59

DOVER - John F. "Jack" Betley Jr. of Dover passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2007, in his home, with his family by his side. He was 59.

Jack was born April 23, 1947, in Wilmington, son of Alice (Ryan) Betley and the late John Betley Sr.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Dover.

Jack was a U.S. Army veteran.

He had a wonderful sense of humor, quick wit and a candor that helped his loved ones keep things in perspective.

Jack was loved by all and will be sadly missed.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Francis; a sister, Joan Williamson; and a nephew, Timothy Williamson.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Jean M. Betley; his brothers and their wives, James and Mary Betley, Tom and Jany Betley, Bill and Sandy Betley and Joe and Regina Betley; his sisters and their husbands, Marie Seymore, Kathleen and Joel Elliot, and Margaret and Andrew Fleming; his brothers-in-law, Terry Turner, Bob Turner and Mike Turner; his sisters-in-law, Beverly Bull and Lydia Betley; and many nephews and nieces.

Celebration of life services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday in St. John's Lutheran Church, Dover.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Helen F. Graham Cancer Center, c/o Development Office, P.O. Box 1668, Wilmington, DE 19899.
