Steele, Jr., 53 DOVER - John E. "Johnny" Steele, Jr. of Dover, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013. He was 53. Mr. Steele was born March 5, 1960 in Wilmington, the son of the late John E. Steele, Sr. and Dolores Elizabeth Steele. Johnny worked as an Independent Truck Driver for many years. He then went on to work as a Car and Diesel Mechanic until his illness. He enjoyed making scale models of cars and trucks, dancing, riding motor cycles, and playing jokes on his family. He loved watching NASCAR while drinking a Budweiser and he loved his dogs, George and Chicka. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Andrew John Steele; his former companion, Mary Mullens, who was the mother of his daughter, Angela. He is survived by his fiancée, Wendy Powell; four daughters, Sebrena Cottingham-Steele of Dover, Sonya Steele of Dover, Angela Steele of Clayton, and Lilly Steele of Dover; his son, John E. Steele, III of Dover; five grandchildren, Anthony, Chyanne, Caitlyn, Summer, and Simya; three sisters, Elda Starke and her husband Jeff of Camden, Janet Sherman and her husband Willie of Felton, and Linda Johnson of Camden; his brother, Donald Steele and his fiancée Nancy of Hartly; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held 12 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013 in the Faries Funeral Chapel located at 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, where friends may call at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park in Dover.
