SEAFORD - John Carroll Fisher, age 72, of Seaford, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011. He was born on Dec. 25, 1938, in Hurlock, Md., the son of the late Dewey and Delma Fisher. John is survived by his wife of 53 years, Katherine Fisher; son, Sam Fisher and his daughter-in-law, Yvette Fisher of Tyler, Texas, grandson, Bradley Fisher and wife Ashley, granddaughter, Taylor Fisher, all of Tyler, Texas; and daughter, Dawn Wroten, and granddaughter, Kayla Wroten of Greenwood; sister, Midge Wright and husband Lester of Berlin, Md.; sister, Mary Smith and husband Billy of Berlin, Md. He was preceded in death by his son, John C. Fisher Jr.; brothers, Billy and Bobby; and sister, Anne. "Pop" as he was affectionately known leaves behind a host of loving family and friends. John served in the U. S. Navy after graduation from North Dorchester High School. He was a lifetime member of the Seaford AmVets. He was a member of the VFW auxiliary of Seaford and a member of the Seaford Moose Lodge. Mr. Fisher was a co-owner of First State Lawn and Garden in Greenwood. He spent most of his life working as a mechanic and was always known to give a helping hand to anyone in need. Funeral Services will be 3 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 22, at the Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N. Shipley St., Seaford, where friends may call from 2 to 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to Delaware Hospice Inc, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
