MAGNOLIA - John Ambrose Spehar passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012 in Kent General Hospital with his loving family by his side. John was born on May 25, 1941 in Ambridge, Pa., son of the late John and Anna (Hlopek) Spehar. He married Patricia Weller on Jan. 4, 1964. John graduated in 1964 from the University of Pittsburgh. He worked as a Chemical Engineer for the Chrysler Corporation in Ohio and Detroit, retiring in 2001. John enjoyed garden railroads, fishing, boating and reading. John is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Patricia Spehar; two sons, Richard (Theresa) Spehar of Perkasie, Pa., and Scott (Deborah) Spehar of Pawleys Island, S.C.; his beloved grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Jonathan, Nicholas all of Perkasie, Pa.; sisters, Marianne Orlowski and Kathleen (Erwin) Ronczka of Pa., Geraldine (Richard) Taylor of S.C. and numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 21 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State St., Dover. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Kent County SPCA, 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934 or to a charity of your choice.
