Milton - John A. "Jack" Horan passed away Thursday Dec. 11th, 2014, at Bay Health Hospital in Dover, Del. Jack was born in Bronx, N.Y. on Dec. 3rd, 1936, son of the late Joseph and Alice (Purcell) Horan. Jack joined the U.S. Navy in 1955, served his country for 20 years and retired as a Master Chief Petty Officer. He received a BS in Business Administration from the University of Maryland. He was a Program Manager for Argon Engineering and a member of the American Legion. Jack enjoyed golfing, traveling and spending time with his family in the U.S. and Scotland. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Wendy (Nicoll) Horan; his daughter, Lisa Marie Pike and husband Jeffrey; three step children, Stella LaMassa and husband Peter, Barbara Shearer and husband Chris, and Nicoll Davie and wife Gayle; his sister, Patricia Chirico; and nine grandchildren: Brian Henshaw and wife Stephanie, Joseph Henshaw, William LaMassa, Charlie LaMassa, Muriel LaMassa, Gracie Shearer, Bruce Shearer, Bobby Shearer, and Justin Davie. Jack is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Wednesday Dec. 17th, 2014 in the Milton Chapel of Short Funeral Services located at 416 Federal Street, where friends may call between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. The funeral service will begin that same day at 12 noon, taking place at St. John Catholic Church Milford 506 Seabury Avenue. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Short Funeral Services.
