CONOWINGO, MD - Joe M. White, Jr. died suddenly from injuries sustained in an auto accident on Friday, April 7, 2023. Joe was born in Baltimore, MD the son of Alice (Driggers) Hutchison and the late Joe M. White, Sr.
Joe was a sergeant and Chaplain's Assistant in the U.S. Army. He received his bachelors degree from Tennessee Temple University and his masters from McDaniel College. Joe was a school teacher at Harford Christian School and then at Granite Baptist School, where he served as Principal the last years before retirement. Joe was also an accomplished basketball coach. He began his coaching career at Newington Christian School in Newington, CT where his team won the High School National Championship. He also coached at both Harford Christian School and Granite Baptist School. While in high school and college, Joe played basketball. Joe was very active in ministry and enjoyed preaching the Gospel as much as he could.
In addition to his father; he was preceded in death by his brother, Christopher Hutchison.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Kelly L. White; five children, Mattie Sharkey (Kearan), Riley J. White, Noah N. White, Karaghan N. White, and Samuel N. White; grandson, Sawyer J. Sharkey; mother, Alice Hutchison and stepfather John; stepmother, Barbara White; sisters, Kimberly Lasater (Thomas), Jill Nedwick; and a brother, Daniel White.
A Celebration of Joe's Life will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Calvary Baptist Church, 1120 Market Street, Denton. Inurnment will be private in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery Millsboro.
