FELTON - Joann J. Gerecitano passed away peacefully Saturday, December 25, 2021 at her residence in Felton, Del. Joann was born on Oct 8, 1944 in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Joseph and Rita (Mongeau) Sabato of Brooklyn, N.Y. Joann was the oldest of four children; she graduated from Lafayette High School and work in the clerical work field.
She is survived by her long time loving husband Vincent Gerecitano who have been married for 55 years together, Felton, Del.; her one and only daughter, Jessica (Gerecitano) Badner, Felton, Del., her son-in-law Joseph Badner, Jr.; and her three amazing grandchildren, Rose, Joe and Katie Badner all from Felton, Del. She's is also survived by her three younger sisters, Laura Decesare, Lakegrove, N.Y., Angela Trepel, Staten Island, N.Y. and Lillian Bianco, Stroudsburg, Pa.
Joann will be very missed by all who knew her, but she had one of her biggest talents was to able to give out to family, friends and to her community many of her handmade crotchet, quilting, plastic canvas and needlepoint crafts. She also had made baby quilts to give out the the new born babies at the local hospitals. Anyone who had the joy of having something made by her would be in awe of her craftwork. She have been attending Calvary Assembly of God, Dover, Del., since 2009, she worked in the sewing ministry that helped out the Easter and Christmas productions. Her joy was to be there for her grandkids and helped them out in any way she could. She was nothing like any other Wife, Mother, Nona and friend to many people. She will be deeply missed but will be forever in our hearts.
