Joan Thompson Hurd, 75

DOVER - Joan Thompson Hurd of Dover died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, in Kent General Hospital. She was 75. Mrs. Hurd was born Jan. 16, 1933, in Dover, to the late Lee E. Thompson and Gladys Wingard Thompson. Mrs. Hurd was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Hurd, in 2002; and her sister, Nancy Tuxward. She is survived by her son, W. Lee Hurd and his wife Diane of Felton; grandchildren, Randy Lee Hurd and Becky Lee Hurd and her fiancé, Robert Scott; great-granddaughter, Jadin Holly Scott; her sister, Iris Neidig; and nieces and nephews, Cliff, Bruce and Penny Neidig, Scott and Tom Tuxward. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
