CLAYTON, DE - Joan R. Wood passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at the home of her son Randy Wood in Felton, DE. Born in Ridgely, MD, she was the daughter of the late James A. Kornrumpf and Agnes Hubbard Kornrumpf.
She was a graduate of Greensboro High School and received a BA from Delaware State College in accounting. She worked for Playtex, Dover Downs, Metal Masters, Western Publishing and Milford Stitching. She had been active in the Republican Party, the Kent County Republican Women's Club. She served on the Salvation Army Advisory Board, Smyrna Century Club, member of the former Friends Club, Life member of the American Iris Society, Delaware Valley Iris Society and she served as a show judge.
Joan is survived by son, Randy Wood of Felton, DE; son, Greg Wood of Newark, DE; daughter, Denise Kowski of Clayton, DE; three granddaughters, one grandson, and one great grandson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles G. Wood in 2014; brother, James Kornrumpf; and sister, Marion Kornrumpf.
At Traders Funeral Home in Dover there will be visitation on Sunday, August 14, 2022 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and funeral service, also at Traders Funeral Home on Monday, August 15, 2022 at 10:30 a.m.
Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Dover.
