Joan Marie Kemp, 70

CLAYTON - Joan Marie Kemp, of Clayton, passed away after a long illness on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, in her son's home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 70.

Joan was born Nov. 26, 1937, in Milford, to the late James and Madelene Wright.

She was a homemaker and lifetime member of the Camden-Wyoming Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary.

Joan enjoyed word books, especially seek and find, and watching television game shows.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Herbert E. Kemp Jr., who also died on March 5, but in 2004.

She is survived by two sons, Gary L. Kemp of Magnolia and Roger E. Kemp of Kenton; a daughter, Gail Kemp of Viola; six grandchildren, Brandi Bacon of Greenwood, Jason Kemp of Oklahoma, Jeanie Coventry of Rising Sun, Gary Kemp Jr. of Magnolia, Chelsie Coventry of Viola and Sean Kemp of Magnolia; and one special great-grandchild, Riley Bacon of Greenwood.

Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Sunday in Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
