Joan Frazier, 70 TOWNSEND - Joan Frazier, 70, of Townsend, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2010, at home, held by her loving family. She was born on Sept. 13, 1939, in Townsend. Joan loved spending time with her family and gained most pleasure with visits from her great-grandchildren, watching the Atlanta Braves or playing a game of cards with anyone that wanted to challenge her. She also loved watching her grandchildren play the many games of football, softball, and baseball when she was able to attend. When not feeling well she would go to extreme measures to watch them play. She worked for Acme Markets for 21 years in the meat and deli departments. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and James Blanchfield; and a daughter, Lisa M. Pizarro. Joan is survived by her loving husband of 22 years, James B. Frazier; two grandchildren she and her husband raised, Becky and Billy Moffett of the family home; sons, Jimmy Bowers and his wife, Michele of Townsend, Gary and Tony Bowers of Milford; daughters, Barbara Biederman and Brenda Moffett of Milford; a sister, Delores Donaway of Clayton, and two brothers, James Austin Blanchfield of Smyrna and Charles Blanchfield. Also surviving are her 17 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening, May 12, from 7 to 9 p.m., at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad Street, Middletown, and on Thursday morning, May 13, from 10 to 11 a.m., where funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Townsend Cemetery.
