Joan Elizabeth (Porter) Deaner-Riggs, 66
ANDERSON, Ind. - Joan Elizabeth (Porter) Deaner-Riggs, of Anderson, died Sunday, May 11, 2008, in St. John's Medical Center, Anderson, after a sudden illness. She was 66.
Joan was born Nov. 15, 1941, in Greensboro, Md., but had lived in Anderson for the past 40 years.
She retired from Leath Furniture, where she worked in sales.
Joan enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton and Dorothea (Edge) Porter; and a brother, Wayne Porter.
Joan is survived by her husband, Donald Riggs; children, Terri Deaner Olin and husband John and Traci Deaner Moore and husband David Callahan; three brothers, Larry Porter and wife Barbara, Jeff Porter and wife Louredes and Gregg Porter and wife Beverly; three grandchildren, Sam Olin, Rebecca Olin and Jake Olin; extended Riggs family, Dawn Riggs Halsell and John Dustin Riggs; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home, with burial in East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson.
