CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Jessie Annabelle Price, of Chestertown, died March 11, 2009, in Chestertown Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was 82. Miss Price was born on May 25, 1926, in Rock Hall, daughter of the late Merritt T. Price Sr. and Jessie Harris Price. After high school she lived and worked in Baltimore until returning to Rock Hall in the late 1970's. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, shopping, puzzle books and loved animals of all kinds, especially dogs, her friend's poodle "Bootsie" and visits with "Earl" the St. Bernard. A resident since 2001 of the nursing home, she could be found checking on others and being friendly, they were her extended family. She was preceded in death by her friend of 27 years, William Knell in 1987; and two brothers, Merritt Tilden Price Jr. and Thomas 'Ray' Price. Miss Jessie is survived by her daughter, Deborah Hudson and her husband Richard; a sister, Patricia Louise Edler and her husband Bobby; two brothers, Jerry 'Butch' Price and his wife Carolyn, all of Chestertown, and Leslie 'Beatle' Price and his wife Sandy of Marydel, Md.; devoted friends of 65 years, Mildred and Albert Parsons; and numerous nieces and nephews who fondly called her 'Auntie.' Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 13, in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Wesley Chapel Church, Rock Hall, with burial in adjoining cemetery. Memorials may be offered to Humane Society of Kent County, 10720 Augustine Herman Hwy., Chestertown, MD 21620.
