Jeffrey F. Donovan

MILFORD - Jeffrey F. Donovan, 67, of Haven Lake Avenue, Milford, passed away Friday, Dec. 24, 2010, at Christiana Medical Center of a Cerebral Hemorrhage. Mr. Donovan was born in Milford, the son of the late Frank D. and Rose Marie (Smith) Donovan. He worked as an industrial mechanic for the DuPont Company in Seaford for 38 years. Mr. Donovan was a U.S. Army Veteran serving two tours in Vietnam. He was a 1961 graduate of Milford High School, and a member of the Fairlane Club. Mr. Donovan was a former member of the Southern Delaware Street Rod Association. He Enjoyed working on his 1963 Fairlane, going to yard sales, antiquing and fishing. In addition to his parents, Mr. Donovan is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Logan Marvel. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Ellen Stokes Donovan; two daughters, Dawn Holman Godwin and her husband Byrd of Milford, Staci Donovan Marvel and her husband James of Ellendale; two grandchildren, Blake Holman and Liz Godwin; his father and mother in-law, Bill and Eliza Stokes of Milford; two brothers in-law and sisters in-law, Bill Stokes Jr. and his wife Bev of Milford; Marty and Sue Stokes, of Milford; his good friend, Wayne Norris of Lewes; one niece; two nephews; and four great- nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N. W. Front St., Milford, where friends may call Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.
