MAGNOLIA - Jeanne D. Hurst of Magnolia died Friday, June 22, 2007, in her home, surrounded by her family. She was 85.
Mrs. Hurst was born April 28, 1922, in Detroit, daughter of the late George and Jeanne Vande bekan Hurst.
She held a master"s degree in music and devoted most of her adult life as a teacher of music within the Detroit public school system, retiring in 1981.
Mrs. Hurst moved to the Dover area in 2002.
Throughout her life, she showed a passion for music, which included the piano and organ.
Mrs. Hurst enjoyed travel and spent several vacations in Europe.
She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church of Dover.
Mrs. Hurst is survived by her niece and her husband, Anne and Anthony J. Andrella of Magnolia.
Services will be 4 p.m. Wednesday in Christ Episcopal Church, State and Water streets, Dover. Burial will be private in Michigan.
The family suggests donations in Mrs. Hurst"s memory to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 2 Mill Road, Suite 106, Wilmington, DE 19806.
