DOVER - Jeanette Rose Ewing Lloyd passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 5, 2016. She was 84. Mrs. Lloyd was born on June 28, 1932 in Rehoboth Beach to the late Thomas W. Ewing and Elizabeth Webb Ewing. She moved to Dover in 1945 and graduated from Dover High School in 1950. She had worked as a telephone operator for the Diamond State Telephone Co. and as a secretary at the Coty Cosmetic Co. In 1965 she began working for Andy Foltz at International Underwriters retiring as an underwriter in 1995. After retiring Mrs. Lloyd volunteered at the Modern Maternity Center and The Delaware Agriculture Museum for 15 years. In her spare time Mrs. Lloyd enjoyed painting, reading, crocheting, crossword puzzles, Facebook and her Kindle. She was loved and respected by all who knew her. She is survived by her son, Mark L. Lloyd, Sr., and his wife Lisa and her daughter, Marsha L. Lloyd all of Dover; grandchildren, William L. Lloyd and his wife Kelly of Marydel, Brooke E. Lloyd of Oak Orchard and Mark L. Lloyd, Jr. and his wife Samantha of Camden; great grandchildren, Christopher, Madison, Nathan, Leah, Luke and Nolan. Services will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Meals on Wheels, c/o Modern Maturity Center, 1121 Forrest Avenue, Dover, Delaware 19904.
