Jeanette F. Messenger

MILFORD - Jeanette F. Messenger, of Milford, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, at Silverlake Nursing Home. She was 88. Mrs. Messenger was born Nov. 7, 1922, in Portland, Maine, to the late Harold C. Flint and Helen E. Flint. She had worked as the office manager for Dodge the Florist in Portland, Maine, for 20 years. Mrs. Messenger was a member of the 1st Parish Congregational Church in Gorham, Maine. She was on the reunion committee for the class of 1940 Deering High School in Portland, Maine. Mrs. Messenger enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Mace Willis Messenger in 1994. She is survived by her son, Bruce W. Messenger and his wife Debbie of Felton; daughters, Linda (Lynn) Stewart and her husband Ray of Milford, Carole B. Messenger of Gorham, Maine; grandchildren, Stephen Mace Messenger, Alexander G. Rioux, Elizabeth R. Rioux "Libby", Jeremy W. Messenger, Michael A. Messenger and Katherine E. Messenger. Memorial services will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery Gorham, Maine. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to St. John's Lutheran School, 113 Lotus St., Dover, DE 19904. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at torbertfuneral.com.
