MILLINGTON, Md. - Jean M. Jeffers Graves, of Millington, died at Chester River Hospital Center in Chestertown on Sunday, March 23, 2008. She was 73.

Mrs. Graves was born in Millington, the daughter of Grayson Jeffers of Millington, and the late Marguerite Clark Jeffers.

She worked for 31 years as a dorm mother at the Benedictine School in Ridgley.

Mrs. Graves was a member of the John Wesley United Methodist Church in Millington, where she sang in the choir.

She was a member of the Chester River Hospital Center Auxiliary and was formally active the Girl Scouts of America.

Mrs. Graves loved to cook and spend time with her grandchildren, she enjoyed bowling for many years and an occasional trip to Dover, Del., was fun.

In addition to her father, Mrs. Graves is survived by her husband of 53 years, Augustine Graves; four daughters, Linda Comegys and her husband Leroy of Sudlersville, Ernestine Graves of Millington, Karen Graves of Denton, and Kim Graves of Wilmington, Del.; one son, Augustine Graves and his wife Anjanette of Georgetown; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Charlotte Potts of Chestertown, Betty Henry of Millington, and Iris Needam; and a brother, Mahlon Jeffers both of Middletown, Del.; and a devoted aunt, Mildred Stryling.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in John Wesley United Methodist Church, where friends and family may call from 7-9 p.m. Friday.

Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Pondtown.

Arrangements by Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, Millington.
