Jean L. Martin, 79

BEAR - Jean L. Martin, of Bear, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2008, at Heartland Hospice House, Wilmington. She was 79.

Born Oct. 29, 1928, in Wilmington, she was the daughter of the late Bayard and Ethel (Reese) Austin.

Mrs. Martin worked for Avon Products in the main office in Newark for 29 years, retiring in 1985.

She attended St. George's United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Martin, in 1986.

She is survived by a brother, Bayard Austin of Lakeside, Fla.; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mrs. Martin's memory to St. George's United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 145, St. Georges, DE 19733-0145.
