Janice E. R. Sturges

DOVER - Janice E. R. Sturges, 71, of Dover, died Dec. 1, 2010, at Bayhealth Medical Center in Dover. Born in Ipswich, England, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Millie Simons Sturges. In 1959 Mrs. Sturges emigrated to the United States. She was a member of The Daughters of the British Empire, The Camden-Wyoming Moose Lodge, and The U.S. Ballroom Dancing Association. She enjoyed her time spent at the Harvest Years Senior Center in Camden. And in her quieter moments she cherished the time spent with her family. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her son, Robert Cobb and wife Adrienne, of Camden; her daughter, Rebecca Phelps and husband David, of Harrington; a sister, Jean Staff, and brother Robert Sturges, both of England; two grandchildren, Robert Cobb Jr. and Joseph Phelps; and two great-grandchildren, Jeremy Phelps and Elan Phelps. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her grandson, Jeremy Phelps. Services will be 2 p.m., Dec. 4, 2010, where friends may call starting at 1 p.m. at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St., Dover. Interment will be private. Condolences may be sent and Guest Book signed via www.ambruso.com.
