DOVER - Janet M. Kriss passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023, while resting peacefully.
Janet was born October 26, 1938 in Dover, Delaware to the late Joseph Merle Boggs and Helen Slaughter. She grew up in Georgetown, Delaware, before moving permanently to Dover and graduating from Caesar Rodney High School. Janet and her husband Bob were married in 1957 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Dover.
She volunteered her time working in the Holy Cross Elementary School Office for many years prior to enjoying a 16-year career as the Office Manager for Volkswagen, Audi, Subaru in Dover. In retirement she enjoyed attending craft shows and surf fishing with her late husband Bob. Janet was a loving and giving person who made many friends through the years.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Kriss; and her sisters, Ann Tush and Hazel Knight.
She is survived by her son, Steve Kriss and wife Kay; four grandchildren, Jeremey Kriss and fiancé Kimberly, William R. Kriss and his wife Michelle; as well as her niece, Linda Brooks; and two nephews, Larry Tush and Fred Knight.
Mom dearly loved her "little pal" Gracie the cat who she considered family as well.
Prayer services will be held from 1 to 1:30PM Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call from 12:30-1PM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Leipsic Volunteer Fire Co., Ambulance Service, PO Box 131, Dover, DE 19903 and/or the Cheswold Volunteer Fire Co., Ambulance Service, P.O.Box 186 Cheswold, DE 19936.
