Janet Arlene Stevens

HURLOCK, Md. - Janet Arlene Stevens died Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, in her home.
Born May 16, 1938, in Rock Hall, Md. She was the daughter of the late, Herman and Viola Yerkie.
Janet was known for driving the school bus, making wedding and birthday cakes, and working in the cafeteria, at the Kent County High school. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends, and helping with the dinners, at the Chestertown Fire Department. Janet also enjoyed, listening to country music and dancing, any chance she had.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death, by her husband's, Frank Reed, Albert C. Williams, and Vernon Stevens; and her brothers, Robert and Donald Yerkie.
Janet is survived by two sons, Marty Reed and his wife, Darlene, of Hurlock, Md., and Rickie Reed and his wife, Ina, of Rock Hall, Md.; three grandchildren, Jamie Reed, of the Western Shore, Samantha, and Mindi Reed, of Rock Hall, Md.; two step-grandchildren, Jennifer Maitland and her husband Jimmy, of Wyoming, and Jessica Hawkins, of Chestertown, Md.; two great-grandchildren, Megan and Allison Reed; 3 step-great-grandchildren, Jasmine and Dareian Maitland and Christian Lamana; and a step-great-great-grandchild, Domynic Lamana, She is also survived by a very special niece, Doris Greiner, who was more like her daughter (THANK YOU).
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017, in the Galena Funeral Home, of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, Md., where friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Burial will follow, in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Rock Hall, Md.
Memorials may be offered, to Rock Hall Fire Company, PO Box 577, Rock Hall, Md., or American Legion, Post 228, 21423 E. Sharp St., Rock Hall, MD. 21661.
