James Richard 'Dick' Walker, 90
MILLSBORO - James Richard "Dick" Walker, of Millsboro, formerly of Levittown, Pa., died Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at his residence. He was 90.
He was born July 28, 1917, in Philadelphia, son of the late George E. Van Martin and Florence Walker.
Dick enjoyed raising orchids in his greenhouse.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre in Burma and India.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Morrisville, Pa., and Oak Orchard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marie C. (McGovern) Walker, in 1999.
He is survived by his daughter, Joyce E. Perroni and her husband Thomas of Morrisville; two stepdaughters, Elizabeth Seipp and her husband Edward of Langhorne, Pa., and Marie Mannion and her husband Jack of Venice, Fla.; and two stepsons, Harry Webster and his wife Eleni of Greece and Chuck Webster of Washington state.
All services are private.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.
