James J. Logan

Felton - James J. Logan, Sr. passed away on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2018 at the Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital. Mr. Logan was born in Hoboken, N.J. to the late, Thomas and Marion Logan.
Mr. Logan worked for over 42 years at General Foods in Dover, in the warehouse department.
In his spare time, he loved to go boating, fishing, and travelling. He enjoyed traveling to Florida every year. He also loved to tinker and build things with wood. Family was important to him, and he enjoyed visiting family whenever and wherever he could. Before his late wife passed, he was involved with the group, Parents Without Partners.
Mr. Logan will be remembered as being jolly all the time. He was full of life, and never had a bad word to say about anyone. He will be sorely missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Bernice Logan.
He is survived by his son and his wife, James J. (Lora M.) Logan, Jr.; daughter, Marion Slaughter; sister, Sue Fox; five grandchildren, Dina Logan, Tracey Hearn, Terra Taylor, Jay Green, Michelle Nowland; ten great grandchildren, Ashley, Randy Lee, Kain, Logan, Rachel, Alyssa, Jonathan, Fred, Cameron, Eliza; two great great grandchildren, Carter and Gunner.
Services will take place at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, on Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, at 12 p.m. A visitation for family and friends will take place one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private.
