James J. Harkins

SMYRNA - James J. Harkins, of Smyrna, formerly of Philadelphia, Pa. and Pine Hill, N.J., passed away Oct. 24, 2018 at Christiana Hospital, Newark.
He was born in Philadelphia, Pa. on Feb. 22, 1933 to the late Patrick John Harkins and Mary McMenamin.
He served in U.S. Army in the Korean War. He had been employed as a Teamsters Trucker, USPS Truck Driver and Driving Instructor.
His daughter, Debra Ann Darcy, passed away in 2006.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret J. Harkins (Wickersham); a daughter, Margaret Ann Simone (Anthony); a son, Patrick James Harkins (Brenda Olesiewicz); ten grandchildren, Sean, Krista, Erin, Kelsey, Shannon, Elliott, Jenna, Dana, Nick and Maura; two great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Kevin Darcy.
A viewing will be held Friday, Nov. 2, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Polycarp Catholic Church, 55 Ransom Lane, Smyrna, where Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m.
Burial will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018 at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Hammonton, N.J.
