MILFORD- James "Howard" Huey, Jr., of Milford, died at Kent General Hospital Sunday December 28th, 2014. He was 71. Howard was born in Denton, Md. on September 4, 1943, son of the late James Howard Sr. and Margaretta Virginia (Baker) Huey. Howard worked with horses all of his life; breeding, racing, and riding. He also worked as a truck driver for ten years, eventually retiring in 2004. He worked part time for IG Burton Milford post retirement. Alongside his undeniable love for horses, Howard was an avid motorcyclist as well as a Harley Davidson enthusiast. In addition to his parents, Howard is preceded in death by his sister, Rosalie McKay. He is survived by his wife, Jane E. (Russell) Huey; five children, Jimmy Huey and his wife Becky, Lynne Russell and her husband Tom, Donna Watkins and her husband Bill, Russell Huey and Michael McGuire and his girlfriend Michelle; his brother, Clarence "Lester" Huey and his wife Pat; and eight grandchildren: Jesikka, Tabatha, Kristin, Patricia, Kyle, Dana, Rachael, and Jake. Howard is also survived by nine great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Friday, January 2, 2015 at 1p.m. in the Milford Chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford. Friends may call at the funeral home for a memorial gathering between 12 noon and 1p.m. Flowers will be accepted per the family.
