SEAFORD - James Edwin Parker Sr. of Seaford died Friday, March 9, 2007, in Genesis Elder Care, Seaford. He was 72.
Mr. Parker was born in Onley, Va., son of the late Ruby Parks and Edwin James Parker.
He attended Goldey Beacom College in Wilmington for two years.
He was a driver for UPS retiring after 32 years service.
Mr. Parker was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Hiram Lodge 21, AF&AM, Past Worthy Grand Patron of Delaware, a member of Sussex Chapter 7, Order of the Eastern Star, a charter member of the Seaford Elks Lodge 2458, a member of Delmarva Walk to Emmaus and a past member of the Salisbury Lions Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Bundick Parker, in February 2006.
He is survived by three sons, Rick Williams and Mike Parker, both of Seaford, and James E. Parker Jr. of Salisbury, Md.; two daughters, Jo Ann Hastings of Seaford and Angela Rankin of Berlin, Md.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. John's United Methodist Church, Pine and Poplar streets, Seaford. The Rev. Boyd B. Etter will officiate.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Watson-Yates Funeral Home, Front and King streets, Seaford.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Seaford.
Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to National Parkinson Foundation Inc., 1501 NW Ninth Ave., Bob Hope Road, Miami, FL 33136-1494.
