Dover - James Edward Brown, Jr., of Dover, went home to be with Lord, Monday, July 2, 2018, in Milford Center.
Jimmie was born June 28, 1943 in Dover, to the late, James & Evelyn(Blome) Brown. He worked for the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill for many years in the laundry division before becoming disabled. He attended the New Beginning Church of God, and faithfully volunteered in the food pantry. In his free time, Jimmie enjoyed watching T.V., especially Westerns, and driving around in his truck.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Charles & William Brown; and brother-in-law, Oscar Scheers.
Jimmie is survived by his siblings, Woodrow W. Brown & wife, Rebecca, of Staten Island, N.Y.; Mary Louise Hines & husband, Tom, of Dover; Carol Backhan & husband, Ron, of Dover; Grace Scheers, of Dover; and Cathy Bernard & husband, Joseph, of Felton; as well as a host of nieces & nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, July 9, 2018, in Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming; where family and friends may view from 12-1 p.m. Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Vitas Hospice, 100 Commerce Drive, Suite 302, New Castle, DE 19713. Condolences may be sent via: www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
