James Donald Usilton

WORTON, MD - James Donald "Jimmy" Usilton, Sr. died on Monday, August 3, 2015 at Autumn Lake Health Care in Chestertown, Md. He was born in Ridgley and raised in Rock Hall by his grandparents Quill and Marcella Usilton. Jimmy moved to Centreville where he worked on his family's farm. He then moved to Worton and worked with Starkey Farm Equipment. In 1960, he married Margaret Katherine Elizabeth Myers (Sis). Mr. Usilton went to work with Crouch Motors as a mechanic for four years then took a position with Worton Creek Marina as a boat mechanic for an additional four years. He then worked with Rock Hall Marine Railway as a mechanic and overall fix everything guy for over 35 year. He retired to farming, his true passion. Jimmy owned and operated Shady Maple Farm since the early 1990's. He enjoyed crabbing, boating, fishing, antique tractor pulls, hunting, and spending time with his family. He was a member of St. James United Methodist Church in Worton. In addition to his wife of 55 years, he is survived by his sons, Donnie Usilton of Worton, Md., Ronnie Usilton (Cheryl Leonard) of Worton, Md., and Robbie Usilton (wife: Tarlie) of Millington, Md.; two sisters, Nancy Hammer of Chestertown, Md. and Ann Leary of Rock Hall, Md.; a brother, Billy Usilton of Michigan; a half-brother, Andy Faber of Millington, Md.; a half-sister, Theresa Cleveland of Fla.; grandchildren, Colby, Brodie, Tanner, Britney, Brendon, Hayley, Alex, and William Usilton; and one great-granddaughter, Addelyn Usilton. He is also survived by his honorary daughter, Debbie and honorary son, Randy Davidson and his honorary grandchildren, Tanner and Mason Emore and Katie and Christopher Davidson along with a close personal friend Annette Stine who was always there to lend a hand. He was predeceased by siblings, Orville, Luke, Alvin, Bobby, Charlotte, Barbara and Mildred. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home 130 Speer Road Chestertown, Md., where relatives and friends may call on Friday, Aug. 7, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. Interment will be in St. James Cemetery.
