MILLSBORO - James D. Waltz, 58, of Millsboro passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 6, 2016. Mr. Waltz graduated from Widener University with a degree in Criminal Justice. He was a part owner of Waltz's Cornerstore and Deli in the early 1990's. He then moved to Millsboro where he worked at Allen's for 17 years and then worked for Care Trans Medical Transport. He very much enjoyed working there and interacting with the people. He was preceded in death by his father, George Waltz, Jr. He is survived by his mother, Patricia A. (Ayres) Waltz, of Claymont; step-daughter, Amanda Wyatt, of Dagsboro; sister, Kelly Waltz-Lloyd and her husband Frank, of Claymont; nieces, Megan and Lindsey Lloyd; nephew, Sean Lloyd; Honorary Uncle to many nieces and nephews in South Dakota and all over the country. Adopted into the Reed Brown family on Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota and was particularly close to his niece, Rose Little Thunder and family. Jim's Native American family was an integral part of his life. He was a Sundancer and his Sundance family was a very important part of his life for many, many years. He was loved by many and he greatly loved many. He was very devoted and compassionate in his beliefs. He is sadly missed. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, DE 19947. Burial will be private.
