James B. Adams MILFORD - James B. Adams, of Milford, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, in Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Adams was born in Milford, on Feb. 22, 1949. He owned his own concrete business for 25 years, retiring in 2005. Jim loved the outdoors, he took pride in his lawn and his flowers and spent summers with his wife and his dachshund Ginger at his beachhouse in Bethany. He was a hunter and a member of Ducks Unlimited, and an avid NASCAR fan where he loved to watch Dale Earnhardt, Sr. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne and served in Vietnam. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James and Beatrice Adams; and his beloved dachshund, Ginger Ann, who passed away in November. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Brenda Adams; a stepson, Tim Lord and his wife Laura; a sister, Patsy Carey and her husband Keith; one grandson, Brennan Lord who was his pride and joy and many great friends. Funeral services were Sunday, Dec. 27, at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford. Burial was in Milford Community Cemetery, Milford. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society, c/o Harriet Davies, 721 North Shore Drive, Milford, DE 19963.
